THERE’LL be plenty of cheers and beers as a three-day ale festival gets under way in Hartley Wintney today.

The village football club, in Green Lane, will be the venue for the fifth annual ale festival between today and Sunday.

There will be 20 real ales available brewed in 17 different local microbreweries, alongside eight different ciders.

A share of the profits will go towards the Testicular Cancer Charity.

The festival will open for business at 5pm, with Alan ‘Howling Laud’ Hope – the Monster Raving Loony Party leader – officially opening the event at 8pm.

The festival will run until 11pm today, from 1pm-11pm on Saturday and from midday until 5pm on Sunday.

Live music will be performed throughout Saturday by 10 different bands and hot food on sale all day.

The entrance fee is £5, with children going free. Souvenir glasses will be on sale for £2 each and the ales will all be £1.50 for a half pint.
