HUNDREDS of people turned out to enjoy a day of crafts and musical talent in Sherfield-on-Loddon.

People of all ages attended the Crafts and Music event at Sherfield School. The event, organised by the Friends of the Basingstoke Area Youth Orchestra and Choirs (BAYOC), included a craft fair which provided a spot of retail therapy for visitors to the event.

There was plenty of fun to be had for youngsters as a bouncy castle, rodeo bull and a ‘soak the conductor’ game provided entertainment during the day.

A barbecue sold burgers and hot dogs, ice-cream and a range of refreshments.

In addition to the fair, a concert was held from 7pm which saw about 300 young musicians from choirs and orchestras around Basingstoke, including the Basingstoke Area Youth Orchestra and the Basingstoke Area Youth Wind Orchestra, showcase their musical talent to the crowd.

Entry to the event cost £2 per car and all the money raised will go to BAYOC, which provides financial support to multiple groups around the borough for items such as uniforms, new instruments and transport for tours.
