A PETROL station in Basingstoke is set to get a makeover if plans are given the green light by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council.

BP Oil UK Limited has applied to the borough council for planning permission to redevelop the petrol station, in Grove Road, in Cranbourne.

If the plans are approved, the company will demolish the existing 95sq metre sales building and replace it with a new 216sq metre building which will sell a range of products, including drinks, newspapers and magazines and car care items.

The current fuel pumps will also be replaced with new multi-fuel pumps to offer both diesel and petrol to customers using the facility, and 11 car parking spaces will be provided at the site.

The application says: “The existing operation fails to meet modern requirements of petrol filling station operators and their customers. The alterations will result in significant benefits, including visual improvements, efficiency and traffic circulation benefits and enhanced facilities, provided by the forecourt shop.”
