OWNERS of B&Bs are being warned to be vigilant following a scam.

Between March and August this year, more than 20 reports have been received across Hampshire, Dorset and Wiltshire.

In many cases, a man has booked a room for a night and subsequently advised that a parcel would be delivered for him the following day.

The man checked in, collected the parcel and often left without staying the night.

It appeared that the parcels contained mobile phones that have been ordered for contracts set up using unknowing victims’ details.

Anyone with information should contact police staff investigator Richard Lynham on 101 quoting 44140276688, or via hampshire.police.uk/internet/do-it-online/online-forms/message-for-officer.html.
