BASINGSTOKE Gazette editor Mark Jones has joined the craze and taken the Ice Bucket Challenge.

Mark was nominated for the chilly challenge by The Gazette’s sports reporter John Boyman, and used the opportunity to donate money to St Michael’s Hospice, in Aldermaston Road, Basingstoke.

Speaking after his daughter Pippa threw the ice cold water over his head, Mark said: “It was very cold, but it was a laugh and it’s all for a good cause.”

Mark now hopes that his nominees – Basingstoke College of Technology principal Anthony Bravo, Basingstoke Town Football Club’s head of marketing Simon Hood, and Basingstoke MP Maria Miller – will accept his challenge... watch this space!
