A FUN day raised a record-breaking amount of cash for a north Hampshire charity.
Sporting Footprints was set up by former Basingstoke couple Tony and Gemma Hart to fundraise for The Bluebells, in North Waltham – a respite holiday home designed especially to cater for seriously-ill children and their families.
The couple, who now live in Lancashire, have visited the home, which is run by the Sebastian’s Action Trust charity, many times with their five-year-old twins Freddie and Noah, who have respiratory problems.
About 150 people attended the fundraising day, which featured archery, crafts, cakes, fake tattoos, face-painting, a barbecue and a bouncy castle.
Gemma, 31, said that the family were delighted to have raised more than £1,000 through donations and raffle tickets.
She said: “It was a great success.”
