RESIDENTS across Basingstoke and Deane love living in Basingstoke according to the statistics from the 2014 Residents’ Survey.

Around 96 per cent of people surveyed said they are satisfied with Basingstoke as an area to live, which has increased from 92 per cent in 2012 and 87 per cent in 2008.

In addition, 88 per cent of people living in Basingstoke and Deane feel they belong in the area, which is a massive leap from 58 per cent in the first Residents’ Survey in 2008. Seventy per cent of residents have lived here for six years or more.

The rise in resident satisfaction has partly been credited put down to a number of projects that are happening in the borough at the moment including the building of the landmark John Lewis at home and Waitrose store, the construction of the £10million Network Rail training facility, as well the Top of The Town project and improvements to major roads in the borough including the Black Dam Roundabout improvement project.
