A BASINGSTOKE shopping centre was plunged into darkness last night following a power cut.
Various shops at Brighton Hill Parade lost their power at around 5.10pm.
The power cut at the centre was the second to affect the Brighton Hill area yesterday.
SSE said that around 25 of its customers lost their power in the morning at around 8.10am, and it was not restored until 7.10pm.
The power was fully restored for all affected customers by 7.10pm.
SSE provided a van offering hot drinks and a place for people to charge their mobile phones during the incident.
The company had also ordered generators in case the power was not restored that day.
It is thought the power cut was caused by an underground fault that has now been repaired
