A CHRISTMAS video featuring a group of Andover musicians poking fun at Basingstoke has gone viral.
Musicians from across the Test Valley town came together to form 'super-group' bAndover Aid, recording a new version of Do They Know It's Christmas? to raise money for charity.
However, they may find themselves in hot water if they choose to do their Christmas or sales shopping in Basingstoke after poking fun at the town.
In one of the verses, the Andover residents sing:
"But say a prayer, and pray for Basingstoke,
At Christmas-time, it's hard when your town's a joke,
There's a world outside the window, and it's a world of dread and fear,
Where the only water flowing is a river full of beer,
And the food from your Christmas party will make you sick for days,
Well tonight thank God it's cheap in Weatherspoons."
The video has proved to be very popular, gaining more than 1,000 views on YouTube since its upload yesterday, with talk of a response from Basingstoke rife on social media.
