MORE adults smoke in Basingstoke than the national average, it has been revealed.
Around 22 per cent of adults in the town smoke, compared to 18 per cent nationally, according to a study by the British Heart Foundation.
The figure for the borough is slightly lower, at 19 per cent.
The figures were released by the charity ahead of No Smoking Day, which will take place on Wednesday, March 11.
