A PRIVATE Basingstoke hospital has been given the thumbs-up by patients according to a new survey.

Patients attending BMI The Hampshire Clinic in 2014 were asked how they would rate the service and 98 per cent said they rated the overall quality of care as very good or excellent.

More than 1,580 patients took part in the survey, which measured satisfaction across a broad range of services at the hospital, in Basing Road, Old Basing.

These included patients’ overall impression of admission, consultant care, imaging, anaesthetists, theatre staff, accommodation and whether they were treated with respect and dignity.

Nurses and consultant surgeons and physicians were also rated highly by those questioned.

Bruce Robinson, executive director at the hospital, said: “Patients are at the centre of everything we do at our hospital and this report is vital in helping us assess what we are getting right and, importantly, what we could do better.

“It is a credit to all the staff here that their hard work is being recognised by the people who matter most, the patients.

“These results are something to be really proud of but we are continually refining our standards and will look to improve on this in the future.”
