Town centre bar gets licence extension
A TOWN centre bar will be able to stay open longer on Fridays after Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council gave the go-ahead to plans.
Ernie Phelps, the owner of Plush Lounge Bar, in Wote Street, applied to the borough council for permission to extend the bars opening hours by an hour on Saturday morning and to close half-an-hour earlier on Sunday morning.
Following the approval by the borough council, the bar now has permission to open at 8am on Fridays and close at 3.30am on Saturday morning and to open between 8am on Saturdays and 4am on Sunday morning.
Previously, the bar had permission to open between 8am on Friday and 2.30am on Saturday morning and between 8am on Saturday and 4.30am on Sunday mornings.
