A BETTING shop was one of two places in the town targeted by thieves last night.
Coral, in Western Way, South Ham, and Tesco Express, in Great Binfields Road, Lychpit, both had cash stolen.
Police are appealing for information and witnesses following the incidents.
Between 12.30am and 1am last night thieves gained access to the Tesco Express store and stole cash from the cash machine outside.
Later this morning, at about 5am, thieves damaged a wall at Coral bookmakers, next to the Soccer AM Stadium, and gained access to the shop.
It is not yet known exactly what was taken.
Detectives are investigating whether these two incidents are linked.
Detective Sergeant Danielle Daltrey said: “Were you near to either area at the relevant times? Did you see anything suspicious or unusual?
“I’d like to hear from anyone who has information which could help with these two investigations.”
