ONE of the MPs hoping to become the next Labour leader will make a pit stop in the town this Friday as part of his campaign.
Andy Burnham, the Shadow Secretary of State for Health since 2011 and the current favourite to succeed Ed Miliband as Labour leader, will be talking to Labour members at the Oakridge Hall for All, in Forsythia Walk, Oakridge from 3pm tomorrow.
The visit has been arranged by Brookvale and Kings Furlong councillor, Jack Cousens, who is a leading member of Mr Burnham’s South East campaign.
Mr Cousens said: “I am very pleased Andy Burnham is coming to Basingstoke on Friday and its great members and supporters will have the opportunity to meet, hear and ask Andy questions during his time with us.”
