OVERTON and Basingstoke’s connection to the Battle of Trafalgar will be talked about at a history society meeting.
Mike Sant will give a talk titled The News from Trafalgar at North Waltham, Steventon, Ashe and Deane History Society meeting on October 15 at 8pm in North Waltham School Hall.
Mr Sant will explain how news of Nelson’s victory came from the West County through Overton and Basingstoke in October 1805.
Visitors are welcome at a cost of £2 per person, which includes coffee, biscuits and the chance to engage with the speaker.
Students can attend for no charge.
