A FAMOUS comedian has given his support to a Kingsclere charity.
David Walliams, best known for his partnership with Matt Lucas on the BBC One sketch show Little Britain, has worked with Living Paintings, which creates books for blind and partially sighted children, to publish one of his books.
Normally blind children have to wait to read the same books as their sighted friends, but Living Paintings published an accessible ‘touch to see’ version of David’s book The Bear Who Went Boo! on November 5 – the same day as HarperCollins Children’s Books released it in hardback.
Talent show judge David, who has written numerous best-selling stories for children over the last five years, said: “I am so pleased that my story will be enjoyed by blind children.
“It was available on the same day as the commercial release. Living Paintings do a fantastic job of making books accessible to children without sight.
“The finished touch and feel version of The Bear Who Went Boo! is a thing of beauty.”
