A MASKED robber threatened a cashier with a knife before making off with cash from the till last night.
Detectives are appealing for information after the offender, dressed in black with his face covered, entered the One Stop shop in Sherborne Road, Oakridge, at 10pm and used a knife to threaten a 68-year-old man who was working there.
He made off with £227 cash from the till, heading towards Abbey Road, in Popley.
No one was hurt during the incident.
The robber is described as tall and thin.
Detectives have released CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to about the robbery.
Detective constable Dan Leese, from Basingstoke CID, said: "The offender made off on foot towards the underpass which leads to Abbey Road in Popley, and I would appeal for anybody who may have seen him in the area at the time.
"I would also like to speak to any customers in the shop around the time who may have seen the man outside."
Anyone with information is asked to contact DC Dan Leese, at Basingstoke CID, on 101, quoting 44160157940.
Alternatively, people can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, where information can be left anonymously.
