CAN you help identify anyone in this photo?
The Gazette was contacted this week by reader David Brighton, who said: “My wife Diane Taplin is from Old Basing and while removing old photos from frames found this photo underneath.
“We know her mother Kittie Ida Taplin, nee Dimes, born in 1915, and her mother were helped a lot at an early age by the Basingstoke Salvation Army as she lost her father who served in the Army in the First World War.
“She always donated to the Salvation Army and really thought a lot of them for helping in their hour of need.
“The photo shows three children sitting at the front and the middle
girl is Kittie Ida Dimes aged approximately five years, making this around 1920.
“But we do not know who the others are.”
