POLICE have questioned a man regarding an alleged racial incident against a BBC news presenter.
As previously reported by The Gazette BBC Radio 4 presenter Sima Kotecha, from Basingstoke, posted on her Twitter of her shock at being called a "p***" in her home town.”
Hampshire constabulary reported that a 24-year-old man voluntarily attended Basingstoke police station yesterday and was interviewed under caution.
After careful consideration of the relevant sections of the Public Order Act and taking into consideration the views of the victim, the man has been released with no further action.
Officers have said that all those directly concerned in the incident have been made aware of the decision.
