A SOCIAL Club in Whitchurch is set to open its doors in early August to a special live tribute night.

Whitchurch Sports and Social Club hosts a number of events across the summer season for members and non-members to enjoy, including the Clive Fortune Big Band, Basingstoke Male Voice Choir, a Fawlty Towners dinner and a sell-out Sportsmans evening with none other than Glenn Hoddle.

On Saturday, August 5, Whitchurch Sports and Social Club will be welcoming a Special Kinda Madness to the club.

Special Kinda Madness are the UK's number one tribute band to The Specials and Madness and will perform a set from each band, combining the energetic stage presence of The Specials with the wonderful iconic tunes of Madness ‘Nutty Boys’.

Doors will open at 7pm, with the performance starting at 8pm.

This is not the last event in the summer calendar, with the club set to host an ABA boxing event on September 2, where amateur boxers from across the south of England will be competing.

Committee member, Paul Driver, said: “It’s great that Whitchurch Sports and Social Club are able to put on these events for the community. We’ve had some great events already through the summer and our tribute evening to The Specials and Madness promises to be a fantastic night for members and non-members of the club to enjoy.
