THE Basingstoke and District Tennis League (BDTL) is in full swing as the summer season progresses.

Divisions are shaping up, promising intense battles on the courts. With the season extending until September's end, the outcome remains open to change.

Men's Divisions:

In Division 1, four teams are neck and neck at the top, each within a victory of one another. The decisive matches between these teams will determine the champions. Division 2 is even tighter, with six out of seven teams separated by just one point. Beechdown B seems to have an advantage due to a pending match. In Division 3, Oakley B and Andover C are locked in a tussle. Their upcoming match could tip the scales for the top spot. Division 4 sees Riseley C leading with a two-point cushion over their nearest rival, along with a match in hand.

Ladies Divisions:

The battle for supremacy in Division 1 is a contest between Andover and Preston Candover A. With multiple matches left, the lead could change hands. Division 2 likely belongs to Preston Candover B, having played all their matches except for Beechdown B. Division 3 sees Whitchurch B holding the lead, but David Lloyd Newbury and Sherborne St John pose stiff competition.

Mixed Divisions:

Division 1's crown seems destined for Andover A, who hold a three-point advantage and need only a draw in their last match to clinch first place. Division 2's leaders, Goodworth Clatford and Whitchurch A, are closely matched, with Goodworth Clatford currently edging ahead. Division 3 remains uncertain, with multiple matches remaining and six teams contending closely, ensuring the standings could change.

Apart from league matches, summer competitions in singles and doubles are underway. The finals are scheduled for September 17.
