A COUPLE has taken the “sad” decision to sell their unique Hampshire holiday home business following a family death.

Little Place in the Country, which runs holiday accommodation business The Wagons in Hattingley Road, Medstead, has put up for sale its business for £1.5m.

It includes two stunning converted wagons that can be hired out for breaks in the countryside.

Wagon in the Woods includes a double bedroom with bath incorporated into the floor, accessed by lifting a trap door, set beneath a feature window with uninterrupted rural views.

There is also a kitchen and outdoor seating area, hot tub, outdoor shower, pizza oven and firepit.

The second wagon, called Wagon and the Wigwam, also features a double bedroom with ‘star lounge’ mezzanine, an en suite double shower, kitchen and stunning views of the countryside from a large feature window.

An outdoor covered seating area has an open fire, a tepee with a hot tub and a central courtyard area with a fire pit and barbecue.

The wagons are for sale along with a cabin and main house – Plum Cottage, which has four bedrooms and a large garden.

Posting on social media to announce the sale, Lucy and Ralf who own the business, said: “We are excited (but also very sad) to announce that the Wagons in Hampshire are now for sale.”

They added: “Due to the sudden death of my father at Christmas and my mother’s dementia meaning she required nursing home care, we are having to sell the family home. As you can imagine, it has been a very difficult time for us all.”

The couple will continue to trade into the new year but are only taking bookings they can guarantee in early 2024.

Following the sale, they will continue to trade as Little Place in the Country running Lotus Spa and Horse Hut, also in Medstead, and Bluebird Penthouse and Land Rover hot tub in Devon.

They said: “We know that so many of you have loved staying in these two wagons. They’ve seen so many reunions, retreats, birthdays, engagements, wedding nights and countless other celebrations over the years, bringing much joy and making many memories.”

They added: “We so want the wagons, cabin and family home to be taken on by people who love it as much as we do and create even more amazing memories there.”
