A BASINGSTOKE boy finished runner-up at the LTA South and South West Tour U16 boys' singles tennis tournament, writes Steve Vaux.
Daniel Ward, who plays his tennis at Totally Tennis in the Memorial Park, sadly lost in the final of the tournament on Saturday, November 4, played indoors at the Aldershot Tennis Centre.
Having beaten the highly rated number 1 seed Luka Williams, who also started his tennis career at Totally Tennis, in the semi-final, Daniel ran out of steam in the final, going down to Joshua Mortimer, from Farnham, whose mum lives near Newbury.
Both lads were unseeded and played some great tennis against players from across Essex, Surrey and Middlesex.
