A COUNTRY pub has been put on the market and is seeking new owners to take over.

The Vine at Hannington, which is popular with cyclists, equestrians and hikers, is now up for sale after more than 13 years.

The Vine is a regular stopping point for hikers following the Wayfarer's Walk, a walk across land believed to have once belonged to the Duke of Wellington's estate.

The leasehold of the country pub is on the market with leisure property specialist Fleurets, at a guide price of £35,000.

Basingstoke Gazette: The Vine at HanningtonThis offers a new owner extensive trading areas with 70 covers, a function room (50 covers), a trade patio (40 covers) and a lawned trade garden (approximately 150 covers).

There is also private owners’ accommodation, and as this flat has separate access to the rear of the property it is considered that this area would be suitable for conversion into one or two letting bedrooms.

Current owner Mandy Yellen said: “We have had the pleasure of running The Vine for over 13 years. However, due to changes in our personal circumstances, we have made the decision to sell.

"The Vine is at the heart of a supportive community and Hannington is a lovely place to live. It is surrounded by beautiful countryside with fantastic walks from the doorstep.

"Customers come from far and wide and The Vine is popular with the local community and customers from the surrounding villages and nearby towns of Newbury and Basingstoke.

“The property itself is large and can provide plenty of opportunities for new owners with vision and enthusiasm.

"We have a small, friendly, professional staff team in place and our ethos has been to create a warm and welcoming environment where customers wish to relax and spend their leisure time enjoying traditional pub food and drink and to celebrate special occasions with friends and family.”
