Westfield maintained their recent good form with an emphatic win over a sorry Hartley Wintney side. The four-goal margin was identical to the reverse fixture played earlier in the season.

The Field opened the scoring on 10 minutes. A long throw Manolis Gogonas saw the Row unable to clear their lines and Jacob Breckon fired home a low shot from the edge of the penalty area. (1-0)

The home side remained on top and a free kick into the Hartley penalty area found Breckon who was unlucky to see his shot from a tight angle go across the face of the goal.

Hartley edged into the match and a well-worked move enabled Issac Ebejer to cross from the left Conor Lynch was just wide with his effort at the back post. Westfield increased the lead on 34 minutes. A long pass forward found Breckon completely unmarked and the striker smashed home a fierce shot from 25 yards. (2-0)

On 41 minutes there were efforts at each end. First Ellis Orsborn had a shot from distance saved by Sonny Wheeler in the Field goal. Then at the other end former Hartley player Archy Taylor got round the Row defence and saw his shot saved by Row keeper Callum Coulter.  Three minutes later a corner on the right for Hartley from Reece Wylie found Liam Gavin who shot over.

In the final minute of the half Westfield added a third eventually.

The home side split the Hartley defence open with a well-constructed move. The ball eventually arrived at two home forwards in the penalty area and the chance was slotted home.

Almost immediately the assistant referee raised his flag for offside and initially everyone thought the goal had been chalked off.  The referee went over to the assistant referee and after a discussion the goal was allowed to stand.

It is understood the other Westfield player who was furthest forward was offside and he made no effort to touch the ball. Andrew Crossley ran from behind and apparently was onside when the ball was played forward.  (3-0)

Westfield started the second half strongly and on 50 minutes a ball in from the left led to a scramble in front of the Hartley goal before the ball was cleared.

The Row reduced the arrears on 56 minutes with a fine goal. Ik Hill picked up a pass and from around 30 yards fired in an unstoppable shot which crashed into the net off the underside of the crossbar (3-1).

Two minutes later Hill tried his luck again from the same range but this time Wheeler saved.  Play moved to the other end and Westfield restored their three-goal lead. A short free kick on the right led to a cross and Breckon was on hand to score. (4-1)

In added time Westside added a long overdue fifth goal. A one-two pass and move enabled Jordan Alves to go clear and scored with the subsequent one one-on-one with Coulter.  (5-1)
