FOOTBALL fans in Hampshire are gearing up for a special night as members of Tottenham Hotspur's 1984 UEFA Cup winning team prepare to reunite for a 40th anniversary celebration.

The event, taking place at Whitchurch Sports and Social Club on Friday, May 10, promises an evening of nostalgia and reminiscing as supporters relive the famous victory with the players themselves.

Among the confirmed attendees are seven club legends who were instrumental in Spurs' European success:

  • Tony Parks: The goalkeeper who made the crucial penalty save in the final against Anderlecht.

  • Graham Roberts: The team captain and scorer of the winning goal in the final.

  • Steve Perryman: The Spurs legend who made a club record 854 first team appearances for Tottenham.

  • Paul Miller: The goalscorer in the first leg of the final.

  • Gary Mabbutt: One of the best English defenders of 1980s who later became a Spurs captain.

  • Mark Falco: A key defender in the 1984 squad.

  • Tony Galvin: A versatile midfielder who played a vital role in the team's success.

  • Micky Hazard: The central midfielder who is organising the event.

The event, from 7pm to 10.30pm, will offer fans a chance to meet and greet their heroes, pose for photos, and listen to a live Q&A session.

Micky Hazard, the driving force behind the event, expressed his excitement on social media.

He said: "It's the 40th anniversary of our UEFA Cup win v Anderlect and Echoes of Glory Nights are putting on a mini tour in the month of May, keep your eyes peeled for the fliers that will be realeased shortly.

"In attendance on the nights will be a minimum of seven players in what will be a beautiful look back at one our greatest ever nights.

"Special night, special memory special players, and the special UEFA Cup will be in attendance also. I'm so excited to put this together and reminisce with you all that very special evening. Everything will be announced shortly COYS."
