Late winner helps Hartley Wintney beat Sutton Common Rovers

The Row started very strongly and came close in the first minute.

A free kick from George Winser found new signing Tayo Oyebola and the striker's header went just wide.

Hartley continued to probe and were rewarded on four minutes with the opening goal from the penalty spot.

A through ball from Eliis Orsborn sent Oyebola free down the middle.

The Row player attempted to round Rovers custodian Sam Roberts before being hauled down.

The visitors' goalie was booked and from the resulting penalty kick, Conor Lynch scored. (1-0)

Two minutes later the Rovers almost pulled level. A long throw from Ben Holden found its way to Lindell Stewart whose shot skimmed the crossbar. 

On 13 minutes a cross from Hartley’s Mo Jallow found Oyebola who headed wide.  The game settled down into a pattern with play confined to midfield. The visitors posed threats from the long throws of Holden and free kicks and corners from Maxwell Oldham

As in the first-half Hartley started strongly and were unlucky on 48 minutes not to increase the lead.

A free kick from 25 yards saw Winser beat the wall with his shot and crashed off the underside of the Sutton bar and came out.

The visitors gained tha ascendancy and following a spell of pressure pulled level on 56 minutes.

A free kick on the left by Oldham found Bertie Lloyd who headed back across goal where Aaron Jenkins scored from close range. (1-1)

The Rovers continued to be on top and on 69 minutes a corner from Oldham found Lloyd who saw his header saved by Louis Evans in the Hartley goal.  

Against the general run of play the Row went ahead on 78 minutes. A quick break saw Winser thread a ball through to Mason Obeng who ran on and finished well. (2-1)

The visitors pressured the Hartley goal in the latter stages and a shot from Stewart brought out a good save from Evans in the Row goal.  Hartley withstood further pressure but held on the claim the three points.
