SOUTH Western Railway has reported a signalling problem between Winchester and Basingstoke.

While lines have reopened, according to the train operating company, services running through these stations may be delayed or diverted.

Disruptions are expected until 3pm.

The South Western Railway website says: “We have been informed of a signalling problem between Micheldever and Winchester. This means that some lines are blocked.

“To assist you with your journey your ticket will be accepted, at no extra cost to yourself, on the following services:

“-Great Western Railway services between Salisbury and Southampton Central in both directions

“-Crosscountry services between Basingstoke and Bournemouth in both directions.

“For further information or onward travel advice please speak to a member of staff or use a station help point.

“We are very sorry for any delay that this may cause to your journey.”
