MYSTERY surrounds what has been installed on the approach to a Basingstoke roundabout.
Drivers in Basingstoke have spotted what looks like a bollard-shaped pole appear at the side of the road on the approach to the Black Dam Roundabout coming from the A30 Ringway South.
It is covered in yellow plastic with a ‘danger’ warning written on it.

However, when the Gazette asked Hampshire County Council for further information, it was unable to identify what the installation is.
A spokesperson for the county council said: “Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Our highways team will be looking into the matter and will take action, as required.”
