DRIVERS in and around Basingstoke and Deane will have seven National Highways road closures to watch out for in the next two weeks. 

And two of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• A303, from 8pm April 8 to 6am July 6, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A34 both directions M3, junction 9 to Three Maids Hill, carriageway closures for resurfacing work.

And a further six closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• A34, from 9pm May 7 to 6am May 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A34 northbound, Litchfield to Highclere, slip road and lane closures for technology works.

• M3, from 8pm May 8 to 6am May 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 both directions, junction 7 to 8, lane closures for barrier works.

• M3, from 8pm May 9 to 6am May 10, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 both directions, junction 8 to junction 9, lane closures for drainage work.

• A303, from 8pm May 9 to 6am May 10, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A303 both directions Overton to Barton Stacey, lane closures for barrier works.

• A303, from 10pm May 19 to 5am September 9, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A34 both directions Bullington Cross to Wash Common, carriageway closure for National Grid works.

• M3, from 8pm May 20 to 6am May 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 both directions, junction 6, lane closures for drainage work.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
