THE Clere School student Holly Mills carried on her successful season as she won the England Athletics National long jump title with a new personal best leap of 5.76 metres.
This followed on from her success at the County Athletics Championship in June and the All England Schools Athletics Championship in July.
This means Mills has won all three national titles this year and also did the South Of England double, winning both the indoor and outdoor championships.
The 14-year-old from Hurstbourne Tarrant has also completed the season unbeaten in all long jump competitions.
Next year, as well as competing for Andover, she is hoping to represent Blackheath and Bromley, who compete in the Premier Division.
This is a fantastic opportunity in what will be a challenging year as a bottom age under-17 athlete, but one Mills is really looking forward to.
Mark Pasternakiewicz, PE curriculum leader at The Clere said: “As usual, Holly is extremely modest about her achievements. This is another fantastic achievement and is proof of her ability and her dedication.”
