Saints owner Katharina Liebherr has been presented with a specially-bound copy of All the Saints by the club’s historians.

The unique edition of the book was handed over to her by Duncan Holley, Gary Chalk and David Bull during an intimate ceremony held in the Matt Le Tissier Suite, prior to the 2-1 victory over QPR yesterday.

All the Saints profiles every one of the thousand-plus players to have appeared in a Saints shirt throughout the club’s history, and was received with enormous enthusiasm by the owner.

Chairman Ralph Krueger said: “I think it just underlines the deep meaning the club has to her, because she appreciated it.

“Just the questions she was asking showed the curiosity is there about where this club’s come from.

“It’s nice for Katharina. She loves to add to her knowledge about the club and the book helps that.”

Holley, who wrote the book along with fellow official club historians Chalk and Bull, revealed that Liebherr had been particularly keen to read more about Le Tissier.

He said: “The first thing she did was ask ‘Where’s Matt’s page?’”

Holley added: “She had actually already seen the book and said she had read quite a bit of it.

“She and the board have really picked up on the history of the club and embraced it.

“I get the impression she wants to learn a lot about the club and its history.”
