BLUEWAVE Korean Martial Arts have been busy, taking teams to the British Taekwondo National Kyrougi Championships and Northern Ireland Open International Poomsae Championships.

Brother and sister Alex and Amy Stock represented Bluewave at the British championships. Amy reached the quarter finals before being knocked out, but Alex managed to reach the final.

The Bluewave fighter was behind in the early stages of the final but fought back in what was a really close contest. Stock managed to take control, forcing his opponent to lose on deductions to win the Cadet U61 Male title.

As a result, he has been selected to represent England in the Cadet Under 61kg division at the Commonwealth Taekwondo Championships to be held in Edinburgh next month.

A small team travelled to Belfast for the Northern Ireland Open International Poomsae Championships.

Coleen Reilly reached the semi-finals of the 18-35 dan division, a feat matched by Sam Reilly and Amy Stock in the 15-17 dan division.

The synchronised team of Coleen Reilly, Sian Reilly and Amy Stock showed went close to taking an unexpected bronze in the dan under-13 team, but Lynne Firth ensured that Bluewave came away with a medal, picking up silver in the under-60 dan division.
