ALEX Sampford and Mark Pitts both claimed hat-tricks as Basingstoke Buffalo cruised to a 9-0 victory over Swindon Wildcats’ second string.

The pair grabbed a goal each in the first period as the Buffalo took a 2-0 lead, while goals from Matt Lawday and Greg Martyn extended the advantage before the second buzzer.

Pitts and Sampford both scored twice to complete their hat-tricks in the final period, with Ben Edwards also finding the net as the hosts ran out comfortable winners. FGC Solutions-sponsored Jordan Lawday was named man of the match.

Basingstoke Under-18 Bison also enjoyed a big win, beating hosts Lee Valley 12-1.

Hallam Wilson found the net four times, with Josh Richards claiming a hat-trick. Kyle Goddard scored twice, with Paul Petts, Luke Coles and Ben Clark also getting on the scoresheet.
