TADLEY Calleva were beaten by a goal in the final minute of extra-time as they made their exit from the Wessex League Cup on Saturday.
Division One high-flyers Tadley were far from overawed by Premier Division leaders Petersfield Town, holding them 1-1 at the end of 90 minutes thanks to Brett Denham’s first-half goal.
The tie looked set to be decided by a penalty shoot-out as the scores remained level with time running out in the additional period, but Petersfield nicked a winner in the last minute to break Tadley hearts.
Danny Dolan’s men will be hoping to enjoy better fortune tonight, when they host Ludgershall Sports in the North Hampshire Senior Cup.
