STEVE Price hit a hat-trick as Basingstoke Royals brushed aside DJS Telecoms in the Hampshire Junior A Cup.

Basingstoke and District Saturday League Division One side DJS went into the game against Premier Division Royals as underdogs and found themselves two down after 17 minutes, with Price getting both goals.

Nick Willcock made it 3-0 before the break and Royals scored twice more in the second half to win the game 5-0, with Price completing his hat-trick.

Hook went down 4-0 away at Andover New Street in the Basingstoke Senior Cup, but they gave a good account of themselves against the Wessex League outfit.

Division Two outfit Winklebury Wizards caused an upset in the second qualifying round of the Peter Raynbird Cup, coming from two goals down to beat Division One side Hook Reserves 4-2.

Goals from Jack McKee and James Foot had Hook ahead at the break but a Scotty Winterbourne penalty and further goals from Matt Love and Hugo Carlos turned the tables in a frantic opening to the second half. Carlos went on to add the fourth.

Preston Candover made a good start to their tie against higher division Overton United A, but Nathan Bennis put Overton ahead just before the break. Charlie Palmer scored twice in the second half, with Bennis also getting his second, while an own-goal from Lee Corsan was Candover's only consolation as they lost 4-1.

Hampshire Irons needed extra-time to see off AFC Aldermaston. Chris Dobbie put Irons ahead but Kevin Flain levelled from the penalty spot for Aldermaston to force extra-time.

Two penalties from Olly Owen had Irons in control during the additional 30 minutes, with Dobbie adding a fourth to secure Irons' passage through.

TwentyTen are also through after beating Sherborne Reserves 6-3. Joe Osborne had TwentyTen two goals up early on and while Cobi Judd pulled one back, Carl Pearson made it 3-1 at half-time.

Lucas Pickett and Joe Hill increased the visitors' lead to 5-1 and while Connor Perrin and Andy Carr replied for Sherborne, Franklin Spacagna had the final word for TwentyTen.
