WHITCHURCH United suffered a rare defeat in the Wessex League Premier Division last night.
The Jam Boys travelled to AFC Portchester but came home empty handed as the mid-table hosts recorded a 1-0 victory on the south coast.
Despite the defeat, which is only their second in 14 league outings, Whitchurch sit third in the table, level on points with the two sides above them.
They will look to bounce back to winning ways on Saturday, when they travel to sixth-placed Brockenhurst, while they are also away on Tuesday night, making the trip to mid-table Bemberton Heath Harlequins.
