Steven Davis is Saints’ main injury doubt ahead of Monday’s trip to Aston Villa – but both Morgan Schneiderlin and Dusan Tadic look set to be declared fit for the game.

Midfielder Davis sustained a hamstring injury in the 2-0 win against Leicester, in the club’s last outing, and was subsequently ruled out of international duty with Northern Ireland.

“He’s not fit and maybe we have two days,” said Koeman.

“If the game was tomorrow, he was not fit to play. He will be doubtful for Monday.”

Schneiderlin did link up with France for international duty, but returned early after picking up a slight problem.

Koeman expects him to be ok for Monday night’s fixture, though.

“Morgan came back with a groin injury from the French national team,” he said.

“He didn’t train today, but I have good hope he will be fit for Monday.”

Tadic also sustained a knock while on duty with Serbia, missing their friendly against Greece earlier this week, but Koeman confirmed he trained this morning and should play at Villa Park.
