TWENTYTEN were left to rue a refereeing error after being knocked out of the Basingstoke A Cup by Tadley Calleva A.

The teams had already played their first round tie once, with TwentyTen winning on penalties, but the game had to be replayed as the referee failed to play extra-time, sending the game straight to spot-kicks after 90 minutes.

Tadley made the most of their second chance, winning 4-1 to progress to the quarter-finals, where they will face DJS Telecoms.

Kye Theodore put Tadley ahead with a fine strike on the half-hour and Stephen Burgess headed home a second. Adam Elesgood pulled one back for TwentyTen just before the break, but Theodore’s second-half penalty and Kieran Monger’s header completed the scoring.

Hampshire Irons are likely to progress to the second round of the Peter Raynbird Cup after opponents DJS Telecoms were unable to raise a team.
