Jackson Bird bagged his second four-wicket haul in as many games as he continued his comeback ahead of his Hampshire debut in six weeks’ time.

The 28 year-old finished with 4-80 as Tasmania secured a first-innings lead of 69 in their latest Sheffield Shield match, by bowling South Australia out for 295 in Adelaide.

Bird, who is playing the fifth match of his comeback, has now taken 14 wickets at 26.78 since recovering from the back injury that prevented him from playing for Northants last year.

He is due to make his Hampshire debut in the opening LV County Championship game against Sussex at The Ageas Bowl on April 12.
