THE Basingstoke Bison failed to gate crash the Telford Tigers league winning party as they lost 7-1 in Shropshire on Sunday night.

The Tigers won the title the night before with a victory in Peterborough and never looked back in this contest after Daniel Rose and former Bison Joe Miller gave them a 2-0 advantage at the first buzzer.

The second session saw Miller net again, before the Herd scored their lone strike of the night from Bison man-of-the-match Cameron Wynn assisted by Andy Melachrino and Aaron Connolly.

Scott McKenzie restored the three goal lead as he scored at 35:54.

The home side then added three more goals in the final 20 minutes, thanks to Dan Davies, Peter Szabo and Nathan Salem to wrap up the victory.

The Tigers were then presented with the league trophy and the celebration party was able to start.

The Herd are back in action on Saturday as they look for their tenth straight home win when the Swindon Wildcats are the visitors (face-off 6.30pm).
