CHRIS Lavisher scored on Tuesday night, but it was all in vain as Overton lost 7-1 to Combined Counties League Division One outfit Alton Town in the semi-final of the Basingstoke Senior Cup.
Overton equalised in the seventh minute, but the home side led 4-1 after 23 minutes.
The visitors had their chances to get back in the game, before Alton scored three more in the final 15 minutes.
Overton are in action twice next week, travelling to Winchester Castle on Saturday before hosting Colden Common on Tuesday evening.
