READING will hope for a win when they travel to lowly Rotherham United on Tuesday night (8pm).

The Royals last home outing in the Championship saw them beaten 2-0 by play-off hopefuls Brentford on Saturday.

The visitors got off to an excellent start as they led in the seventh minute, after Alan Judge volleyed in Andre Gray’s cross.

Reading beaten last weekend at Wembley in the FA Cup semi-final, had a couple of chances, but Garath McCleary fired over and Hal Robson-Kanu failed to connect properly with Chris Gunter’s cross.

The visiting Bees stung the Royals again, just after the hour mark, when James Tarkowski rose unchallenged to head in Judge’s free-kick.

After the game, Reading manager Steve Clarke said: “We seem to be stuck in a rut at the moment.”

After the Rotherham game on Tuesday night, Reading finish their Championship campaign at play-off hopefuls Derby County on Saturday (12.15pm).
