PHIL Watts pipped Charlie Taylor by just three seconds to win North Hampshire Road Club's latest cycling time-trial event.
The 25-mile race took place on the A31 near Bentley, with Watts clocking 52min 36sec to beat edge out Taylor (52:39). The pair had been just as close at the 10-mile mark, Watts going through in 20:37, just four seconds ahead of the teenager.
Wayne Smith (C&TI) was third in 54:17, just ahead of Jasmijn Muller (Paceline RT), who was the first lady home and fourth overall in 55:55. Susan Parker was the faster North Hants rider in 1:04:53.
The rides were personal-best performances for Watts, Charlie Parker and Susan Parker, a feat also achieved by Michael Harrison, Piers Kenyon, Jim Weaver, Barry Eeles, Andrew McCombe, Barry Tooke and Mark Simcox.
