BASINGSTOKE and North Hants have one last chance to snap their Southern League Division One end-of-season losing streak.
The Bountymen face bottom-side Calmore Sports, who are still fighting to avoid relegation, on Saturday, the final day of the campaign.
When the teams met earlier in the season, the Bountymen were very much in the title race. They bowled Calmore out for 125, with Matt Thankachan returning super figures of 7-6.
This was after Basingstoke had scored 202-9 batting first, a total they can only dream of at the moment.
Thankachan and Chris Oliver are unavailable for the last game of the season, so skipper Chris Froud could call up another youngster from the second team to join the likes of Callum Coombs and Max Harsham, who played against Bournemouth last weekend.
The Bountymen slipped from third to fifth in the table after they suffered a nine-wicket defeat.
Froud said: “We spent more time in the car than we did playing cricket. It took us three hours to get there and we arrived 10 minutes before we were due to start.
“They won the toss and put us into bat on a wet pitch and bowled well, but we edged everything and it ended up being a very poor day."
