IT IS TIGHT at the top of Basingstoke and District Tennis League Mixed Division One.

Beechdown A lead after a 7-1 win at Odiham and a 5-3 loss to second-placed Andover A. Chris Harold/Andrea Butcher were unbeaten against Odiham.

Overton A beat Goodworth Clatford 5-3, with Lucy Battersby/Keiran Hughes getting a maximum.

Oakley A are favourites to win Division Two, but RSF A lead. They beat Mortimer A 8-0 but lost 5-3 at Preston Candover.

Mortimer A beat Overton B 6-2 and Aldermaston B beat RSF B 5-3. Mortimer A won 6-2 at Aldermaston B, with Jo Jones/Ben Money unbeaten, while Tim Rice/Emma Barnes won all of their sets in Totally Tennis B’s 7-1 win at RSF B.

Oakley B have won Division Three after a 7-1 win against Totally Tennis B, with Jenny Rust/David Burrell unbeaten. Beechdown B beat Mortimer B 6-2.

Beechdown C lead Division Four after a 6-2 success at Odiham and need a point from their final match to win the title.

Second-placed Whitchurch won 8-0 against Kingsclere. They cannot catch the leaders, but Hampshire Court can.

A maximum from Adam Fitzgerald/Jayne Crowley gave Hampshire Court B a 7-1 win against Odiham B.

Old Basing C beat Hook 5-3 but Hook beat Odiham C 7-1 thanks to a maximum from Barbara Herneman/Andy Small.
