CHARLIE Wedge scored four times and Cain Russell netted a hat-trick as the Basingstoke under-13 Bison went to top of South One after a resounding 11-5 victory over visiting Slough.

The home side took just 88 seconds to take the lead, as Wedge scored assisted by Harrison Wynn.

By the end of the first session the young Herd led 3-2 after Russell netted twice.

The second session saw Basingstoke win it 4-1 as Wedge completed his hat-trick and Jakub Marczyk collected a helper.

Russell then also completed his trio as he finished a move involving Travis Penny and Henry Emery.

Penny then netted goal seven, as he converted a pass from Oliver Hemming-Maher.

The final period saw the young Herd score another four times as Sophie Halstead scored either side of a Penny strike assisted by Harry Brewer, before Wedge with his fourth completed the scoring.

The under-13s are next in action on November 29 when they face a visit from Guildford.

The under nines played there cross ice matches at Bracknell against Bracknell, Gosport and Guildford and won all them. The Bison's spirit of the game trophy went to Aemonn Sikalo.
Their next games are at Guildford on Sunday December 6.

The under-11s lost 4-2 at Guildford as Patrick Wilson and Oliver Hemming-Maher both scored and Roman Cathcart picked up an assist. Bison netminder Billy Gillard was their man of the match.

The under-20s also lost in Guildford 3-2 as Hallam Wilson and Jordan Gillard both scored and man of the match Ryan Smith collected two assists on his debut.
