AFTER failing to pick up any points in their last two games, getting back to winning ways is a real must for Basingstoke Town.

This Saturday they have a trip to the seaside to take on Weston-super-Mare and victory would be great result for the away day.

Weston are only three places above Town with four more points from three less games.

However, this is the first meeting between these sides this season and a six points from the two games could make a big difference come the end of April.

The Dragons may come into the game having lost their last two games, but both have been to late winners.

Against league leaders Ebbsfleet last Saturday they were the better side in the first half and another positive was the first goal for the club for new impressive centre half Jack Deaman.

Last weekend, Weston played an amazing game at Hemel Hempstead, as they came back from 3-0 and 4-2 down to draw 5-5, despite being reduced to 10 men.

Town boss Michael Gilkes will have a full squad to pick from except for David Ray and Jamie Brown and he has only one thing on his mind.

Gilkes said: "We will go there looking to get three points. The last two games we have come up short, but that is in the past now, so we now must just focus on Weston."

l The wait goes on for the Dragons as to who they will face in the Hampshire Senior Cup quarter-final opponents this season.

This was after the game between Horndean and Totton and Eling was postponed for the seventh time on Tuesday night.

Elsewhere on the same evening, two quarter-finals were played and both went to penalty shoot-outs.

Fleet Town beat Lymington, while Havant and Waterlooville did likewise against AFC Portchester.
