THREE teenager pool players from Basingstoke made their England debut at the English Black Ball European under-15 Championships.
The massive event held at Bridlington which included competition for under-23s, under-18s and under-15s.
The trio making their England bow were Kempshott’s Clarke Randall (13), Popley’s Harry Sarnicki (12) and Charlie Croucher (13) from Chineham and the Hampshire under-18 team mates made up the England under-15 B2 team.
The three players, who all train and play at the Academy in Basingstoke. turned in some excellent performances winning four of their seven games with victories over Scotland, Gibraltar, Wales B1 and B2.
This saw them qualify for the semi-finals and having trailed 5-0 to their Welsh rivals they fought back winning six of the next seven game, before losing 8-6.
After this they finished second in a fun speed event to England B1.
John Randall, father of Clarke Randall said: "Given their ages I think it is a great achievement to represent their country."
The three are next in action for Hampshire under-18s against Oxfordshire, as they hope once again to make it to the county finals. Then they will have trials to represent England for an event in Ireland in October All three players are looking for sponsorship for the various events around the country and anyone interest should contact John Randall on randall644@btinternet.com
