TRON were crowned Basingstoke and District Division Two champions after a 2-0 win on Monday night.

Ben Jones' team gave them a good game, but fell behind after16 minutes, when Ben Nicholls put away a ball from Jamie Ballantyne.

Aldermaston were always in the game and in the 75 minutes should have equalised. Graham Bone and Tony Johnston played a one-two and it led to Nick Carter having a good chance but fired over the bar. Five minutes later, Tron made sure of the points, as Stuart Austen intercepted a mis-placed pass, played through for Finley Hall to find the top corner from 20 yards out.

Last Wednesday, Tron drew 4-4 with Bounty United. The goals from Bounty came via Pawel Debot, Joe Oates, Willis and an own goal, while Tron’s scorers were Hall, Ballantyne and two for Colin Dawber. .

Basingstoke United made sure of promotion after beating Herriard Sports 7-3, which is a credit to Jimmy Sallows and his players in only their second season in the league.

Back to early September, they went down to lowly placed TDI Group 2-1, but since then only suffered two defeats, both against Bounty United.

United opened the scoring against Herriard in the 30th minute, when Charlie Smith netted and two in the next seven minute from Tom Hartley and Joe Cook made it 3-0.

Herriard replied through Gary Parker from an Adam Nelson corner and right on half time Craig Lewington made it 3-2.

Within a minute of the re-start, Herriard drew level. A dazzling run by Sam Weber, saw him round goalkeeper Sallows and scored with a low shot.

United regained their lead through Hartley and he completed his hat-trick on the hour.

Herriard then conceded a penalty put away by Charlie Smith and a seventh was scored by Gus Reis.

Last Wednesday evening, Winklebury Wizards had a good result beating Herriard Sports 2-0.

An own goal in the 38th minute was followed by a second by Adam Bartlett, but on Saturday they did not do so well as they were beaten 3-2 by TDI Group.

This is a real boost for Graham Jenkins, as his team now move out of the bottom two and so avoiding applying for re-election.

Tom Roworth gave TDI the lead on 18 minutes, after Dan Hancock's shot was half saved by Robbie Costen.

Mark Smith volleyed home a corner to make it 2-0, but the Wizards came back as Alex Stevens' corner was headed in by Greg Adams.

A solo run from Dom Stevens made it 2-2, before TDI's winner came in the 72nd minute as Hancock scored.
